Beverly Burgin

After studying at the Ringling School of Art she established art and framing galleries, judged and juried art shows, and successfully coordinated expansive art exhibits in Florida and beyond. In 1989, Beverly redirected her focus to painting restoration and conservation by creating Burgin Conservation of Paintings. She has spent decades perfecting her craft and technique and stays current on the technology and unique expertise required for conservation through her membership in leading art conservation organizations and yearly domestic and international workshops with fellow conservators. In 2010, she spent a month in Italy studying art and architecture with an entire week specifically devoted to the restoration of tears, distortions, and paint loss with a one-on-one workshop conducted by one of Florence’s leading conservators, Lorenzo Conti. Today, she continues to utilize her expertise by assisting with the conservation efforts of Burgin and Brown Conservation of Paintings.

Heather Brown

Heather Brown’s passion for art began when she was 9 years old in Corpus Christi, Texas while studying with local artist Margie Cunningham. Throughout her time in school, she earned many awards for her oil painting and other artistic endeavors. While earning her bachelor’s degree in special education at Southwest University in San Marcos, Texas, she continued to pursue her painting studies. She minored in fine art and explored various media including printmaking, watercolor, oils, jewelry, pottery, and sculpture.
After earning her Master’s Degree in special education from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, she continued teaching went on to teach art and science at Seffner Christian Academy in Tampa, FL. She quickly turned high school art classes into a full fine arts program with advanced studies in multimedia art. She also adjudicated regional art shows, managed art auctions and fundraisers, and continued teaching private advanced art lessons. After 28 years of teaching, mentoring, managing art productions, and establishing multimedia art and photography shows, she has seen her students become career artists and artisans around the world.
She met Beverly Burgin in September 2021. She shared with Beverly her passion for art and her interest in the art of restoration. She immediately began her apprenticeship with Beverly discovering the skill and techniques required for restoring and preserving fine art and frames. She retired as a teacher in 2023 to dedicate herself exclusively to fine art restoration and preservation. After becoming a developing partner of Burgin Conservation of Paintings, she has assumed ownership and renamed the business Burgin and Brown Conservation of Paintings.
